Quick Overview

This espresso machine has a number of features that make it an excellent mid-level espresso maker. It has flexible shot control that allows you to choose how much espresso you want as well as an attached manual micro-foam wand to make lattés and other coffee house drinks.

It comes with precise espresso extraction and all around is a pretty good machine. We don’t think it is the best option for beginners, however, if you are a beginner and are willing to take time to learn the machine and practice until you are able to consistently pull the perfect shot of espresso, this machine could also work for you.

It is not the cheapest nor the most expensive machine on the market. However, for the quality and features of this espresso machine, the price is excellent and overall, if you are willing to take care of it, we think it is a great espresso machine!

Key Features

Flexible Shot Control

One key feature of this espresso machine is that you have control over how much espresso is brewed. You can choose 1 shot, 2 shots, or manually control however espresso much you want to be extracted.

Manual Milk Micro-Foam Wand

The machine also comes with a high-powered milk steamer attachment that uses high-pressure steam to heat up the milk quicker resulting in a delicious and smooth micro-foam.

Precise Espresso Extraction

This espresso machine allows you to maximize the flavor of your espresso with low-pressure pre-infusion. It has digital PID temperature control that allows you to adjust the temperature in 2ºF increments. It also comes with a pressure guide that will guide you and make it easy to extract the espresso just right so it’s perfect every time.

Pros & Cons

What We Like

Easy To Clean

One thing we stress a lot at CoffeeBelly is the fact that you need to regularly clean and descale your coffee appliances. This helps them last a lot longer and continue working like new over the course of time.

We especially like machines that make this dreaded task easy and quick. The Breville Infuser has maintenance indicators built in that will let you know when it’s time to clean the machine.

However, we do recommend cleaning and descaling the machine more often especially if you use it on a regular basis. Also, most parts on this machine are removable to easily be rinsed off and dried.

Comes With Accessories

We also like that the machine comes with various accessories which is an added bonus if this is your first espresso machine and don’t have these tools on hand!

It comes with single and dual wall filter baskets, a coffee scoop, a cleaning disc and tablets, a cleaning tool, a stainless steel jug to froth milk, and a water filter with a holder.

Built-In Milk Frother

We love that the machine comes with a high-pressurized built-in milk frother. It can heat up your milk pretty quickly and turn it into a silky micro-foam that will make your espresso drinks absolutely delicious.

Compact

Another pro to this espresso machine is that it is fairly compact. It’s certainly not tiny, but it can fit comfortably in most kitchens. It is 11.5 x 13.7 x 13.25 inches. So, it’s not huge and is a great size for an espresso machine!

What Can Be Improved

Built-In Grinder

We wish this espresso machine came with a built-in burr grinder. Other espresso machines on the market tend to have a built-in grinder and we wish this one did too. So, if you don’t have a good grinder already you will need to purchase one.

Water Reservoir Could Be Bigger

One plus is that the water reservoir is removable. The reservoir has a capacity of 61 ounces, however, if you are someone who hates refilling your machine and know you want a machine with a water reservoir twice that capacity, you may want to opt for a different espresso machine. However, we think 61 ounces is pretty decent and typical for espresso machines.

Who is this product best for

This espresso machine is best suited for those who are familiar with making espresso and more intermediate baristas. If you are an absolute beginner this isn’t a bad machine, but please keep in mind it will take some time to learn the machine and how to pull perfect espresso shots every time.

We also think it’s overall a great machine for anyone who wants the ability to customize their espresso. It gives you a variety of options to customize how your espresso is made and doesn’t take very long to make a delicious espresso drink you can have any time of the day.

Pricing

The Infuser is a great mid-range machine. For the price, this is an excellent espresso machine. The quality is better than the price. You can definitely get a better higher-end machine for twice the price, however, for the price that it is, we think it’s a great espresso machine. It takes some getting used to and learning but overall is a pretty sturdy machine if taken care of and cleaned on a regular basis.

This machine has a number of features that you can customize and is an excellent option for those looking for a mid-level machine. It’s not the cheapest on the market, and it’s not the most expensive, it falls right in the middle compared to other espresso machines. However, we think it’s a good price for the quality and features it has.

Final Verdict

The Breville Infuser is a good mid-level espresso machine. It has a number of customizable features and comes at a good price for what it is. It’s excellent for those familiar with making espresso and those who are willing to learn. Overall, it’s a pretty good machine and one we recommend!
