Overview

We recommend the Keurig Mini for fans of Keurig who want a small more compact single-serve coffee machine.

The Keurig Mini is on the pricier end for single-serve coffee machines with similar features, but with the Mini, you get to choose from a variety of colors and you are essentially paying for the brand name. We think it’ll deliver great coffee and is overall a good little machine.

Features

One of the most attractive features of the Keurig Mini is its size. It is less than 5 inches wide, 11.3 inches long, and 12.1 inches tall. It’s perfect for small spaces and takes up very little counter space.

It also brews any cup size that is between 6-12 oz. As well as being travel mug friendly. You can easily remove the drip tray so you can fit any travel mug up to 7 inches tall. The removable tray can also hold up to a full brew to avoid any mess on your counter.

The Keurig Mini is also energy efficient. It has an auto shut off feature that turns off the coffee maker 3 minutes after your last brew to help save energy.

Pros & Cons

What We Love

Size

It’s very compact and is a great option for anyone who loves Keurigs but doesn’t have a lot of space or wants to put it in an office, dorm, or other small space. Along with size, we love that you are able to brew a cup of 6 to 12 oz. of coffee and fit most coffee mugs. Including travel mugs up to 7 inches.

User Friendly

Like regular Keurigs, the Keurig Mini is pretty straightforward to use and makes delicious coffee. You simply have to fill up the one cup water reservoir, put your K Cup into the machine. Close it, and turn it on, and a few minutes later you have a fresh cup of coffee. Sweet and simple.

Color Options

The Keurig Mini comes in a variety of pretty colors that will fit any aesthetic. You can choose from black, dusty rose, dreamy blue, studio gray, and oasis. They’re all fun and would fit in with any decor.

What We Think Can Be Improved

Brew Time

Brew time could be shorter. We have found that it can take a couple of minutes to get a cup of coffee from the machine. Although time does seem to slow down when you’re watching it, it can take several seconds for the machine to get going after you turn it on to start brewing. It doesn’t take several minutes, just about 2-3 to get your cup of coffee.

Water Could Be Hotter

If you love hot hot hot coffee, you may want to try another machine. The Keurig Mini doesn’t seem to heat the water up to be hot enough every time. Don’t get us wrong, it’s hot, but it’s not piping hot. If you are someone who loves their coffee piping hot, you may have to pop it into the microwave for a few seconds after your cup is brewed, or get a different machine.

Doesn’t Fit Universal Filter Well

We haven’t tried the universal filter ourselves, but a lot of coffee drinkers are complaining that the universal filter Keurig sells separately to accommodate using coffee grounds doesn’t fit in the Keurig Mini. It gets stuck, makes the lid unable to close, and just doesn’t seem to be compatible with the Mini. So, if you are planning to purchase the Keurig Mini and want to use your coffee grounds, you probably won’t be able to.

Who Is It Best Suited For

The Keurig Mini is best suited for anyone who is a fan of Keurig and wants to save counter space or doesn’t have a lot to begin with. That’s the biggest benefit of this machine.

If you want to make several cups of coffee or hate refilling water reservoirs, this may not be the machine for you. You will have to refill the reservoir every time you make a cup of coffee. However, if you don’t drink a lot of coffee and want something small and simple, this is a great machine to consider!

Pricing

The Keurig Mini is on the more expensive side for single cup coffee makers. Although it is more compact than other machines, it is definitely more expensive. You can get a small single-serve coffee maker for a fraction of the price with just about the same features, you just won’t get the brand name of Keurig or the fun colors that the Keurig Mini comes in.

Final Verdict

We recommend the Keurig Mini for anyone who wants a compact Keurig. It has a lot of good features, comes in a variety of fun colors, and is compact. It can fit in a lot of small spaces such as an office, dorm room, small counter, etc. However, if you want a single-serve coffee maker and don’t care for the colors or brand name, you can definitely find a cheaper option that would be comparable.

We hope you enjoyed our Keurig Mini Review and found it helpful in deciding if you want to purchase a Keurig Mini for yourself!
