Hands Off 

Since the Delonghi Magnifica is an automatic espresso machine, you will be pretty hands-off. That could also be a con if you are someone who wants to have a hand in pulling the espresso.

However, if you rather have the machine do all the work of making espresso for you, this is an excellent option. It’s pretty hands-off except for setting it up, which is simple and frothing your milk.

You won’t have to grind beans, fill a portafilter and tamp it, or anything else.

So, if you are looking for a machine to do all the work for you, this is definitely a pro for this model of Delonghi espresso machines!

Ability To Use Ground Coffee

However, it can be a pain to clean coffee machines and can easily be a task you put off or ignore. However, since the machine has easily removable parts it’s really quite easy to clean it and can be done in a short amount of time. 

Built-In Grinder

We also love that the Delonghi Magnifica comes with a built-in burr grinder. As previously mentioned, burr grinders are one of the best grinders you can get to grind your beans.

It’ll preserve the quality and integrity of the coffee and always produces an even and consistent grind. Since it is integrated with this espresso maker you’ll be able to have freshly ground espresso every time you go to brew your coffee.

You also will be able to save yourself some counter space by not having to also have a coffee grinder in order to use this machine. 

What Can Be Improved

It’s Loud

There are a number of complaints about the noise of the machine online. Although it is common for espresso machines to make a bit of racquet, whether grinding beans, brewing espresso, or frothing milk, it is something to keep in mind.

If you know you’ll need to find a more quiet machine due to your living situation we don’t think this would be the best machine for you. 

Water Reservoir Could Be Bigger

The water reservoir can hold up to 1.8 liters of water. Which is roughly 7 or so cups of coffee. We don’t think you’ll have to refill the water reservoir every day unless you’re making a bunch of coffee.

However, if you are looking for a machine with a large reservoir that you won’t have to refill very often, then this may not be the ideal machine for you!

Who Is This Machine Best For?

The Delonghi Magnifica Espresso Machine is great for beginners or anyone who wants to be fairly hands-off in making their espresso. The machine does all of the work of pulling espresso for you and makes it simple to make lattés, cappuccinos, americanos, etc.

This espresso machine is not great for those who like to be more hands-on when making espresso since this machine does pretty much all of the legwork for you!

Pricing

The price for the Delonghi Magnifica ESAM3300 is on the lower end for automatic espresso machines on the market.

It is one of the most affordable super-automatic espresso machines and is great if you’re on more of a budget. Most other automatic espresso machines can be a bit more expensive.

The pump has to be set up correctly or it could possibly be damaged or cause you issues in the future. We think this is a good automatic espresso machine that comes with a number of customizable features and makes making coffee shop drinks easy at home.
