The Cuisinart DBM-8 Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill is a good grinder. It has a lot of great features, such as using a burr grinder, it lets you grind 4 to 18 cups, it has an electric timer that lets it automatically shut off after the grind cycle, along with other excellent features.
The biggest downside of this Cuisinart coffee grinder is that it can be quite noisy when it is grinding coffee beans.
However, we think the pros outweigh the cons and that this is a good coffee machine for those looking for a burr grinder that is about mid-quality and has a price that reflects that.
It uses a burr grinder to grind the coffee beans. Burr grinders are one of the best types of grinders because they don’t produce hardly any heat when they are grinding, unlike other types of grinders.
This is important because heat can negatively alter the taste of your coffee. Burr grinders also create a uniform size of your coffee grounds which ultimately makes for a superior cup of coffee.
4 to 18 Cup Size
You can set the grinder to grind anywhere from 4 to 18 cups. The bean hopper is 8 ounces and the grind chamber can hold enough coffee grounds for 32 cups.
You will be able to get a full pot of coffee out of one session of grinding. Ultimately making your life easier by not having to keep refilling your hopper to grind enough beans for a pot of coffee every day.
The machine will automatically shut off once your grind cycle is complete. You won’t have to stand around to turn it off when it’s done grinding. You can even leave the room and it will turn off when it’s done.
18 Grind Settings
This Cuisinart coffee grinder also has 18 grind settings ranging from ultra-fine to extra-coarse. You will be able to get the perfect consistent grind every time.
Pros & Cons
What We Like
Multiple Grind Sizes
This machine has 18 grind settings and we like that that gives you the ability to pick the perfect grind for your coffee depending on your brew method. The burr grinders also will create a consistent grind of whichever size you choose.
It’s a compact machine that has a stainless steel look that will fit in with any kitchen decor. It fits perfectly on a counter by your coffee machine, or can easily be stored in a cabinet. It also has cord storage to make storing it hassle-free.
Large Hopper and Grind Chamber
We also like that the bean hopper and grind chamber is quite large. The bean hopper is 8 ounces and the grind chamber can hold enough coffee grounds for 32 cups.
You’ll easily be able to grind a large amount of coffee to make a full pot. You won’t have to refill the hopper and grind multiple cycles as you might with smaller sized grinders.
The motor on this grinder is powerful. You can hear the power of it when you turn on the machine. It’ll grind your beans quickly and efficiently. You’ll be able to grind any size and it’s obvious this motor is built to last a long time if the machine is well taken care of and cleaned on a regular basis.
What Can Be Improved
This machine can be quite noisy. Coffee grinders in general tend to be pretty loud when they are grinding, but it’s worth noting that this one is pretty loud for the short time that it is grinding your beans. If you live in a house with light sleepers and want to grind beans before they wake up, this might not be the best grinder for you.
The way that the machine is designed, when you pull out the grind chamber it can get grounds on your counter and create a small mess sometimes. However, it’s not usually very much and if you are very careful it can sometimes be avoided.
This Cuisinart coffee grinder is great for anyone who is looking for an affordable burr grinder or is new to the coffee world. It’s pretty standard in what it can do and the features it offers.
This Cuisinart coffee grinder is in the middle in terms of pricing for an automatic burr grinder. Higher-end burr grinders can be more costly or you can get some that at a cheaper price and cheaper quality.
This is definitely the middle option in terms of quality for a burr grinder and the price reflects that.
If you are looking for a high-end burr grinder then this is not the machine for you. However, if you want one that is affordable but not too cheap that you have to throw it away after a short period of time, this is a great burr grinder.
We recommend the Cuisinart DBM-8 Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill. The price is fair for the quality and we think the pros outweigh the cons. It’s a good burr grinder that will grind delicious coffee that is at a decent price point.
We think it has a lot of decent features and will surely get the job done day in and day out. We hope you enjoyed our review of this Cuisinart coffee grinder!
