Baratza Sette 30

The Baratza Sette 30 is an excellent entry-level high-end grinder for home use. It is designed as the “starter model” of the Baratza Sette Grinder series, which basically means is it has the most basic features of all the grinders in the series and is excellent for those new to grinding coffee beans or are looking for a more basic machine.

The Baratza Sette 30 features a conical burr grinder. Conical burr grinders are awesome grinders because they produce an even grind every time. It’ll use high-speed grinding and zero retention every time you grind coffee beans using this machine. 

This grinder also comes with 30 grind settings and a digital timer that gives you a lot of control over your coffee is ground. It also comes with a convertible device holder so you are able to grind into a portafilter or grounds bin.

This grinder is excellent for anyone looking for a higher-end entry level grinder. In terms of pricing, it is a higher-priced burr grinder compared to others on the market. However it is also high quality and comes with a variety of features. 

One con to keep in mind with this grinder is that it can be pretty noisy. Most grinders are pretty loud, but there are multiple complaints online about how it can be pretty loud when it’s grinding.

Baratza Sette 270

The Baratza Sette 270 Conical Burr Grinder is a mid-level burr grinder in the Baratza Sette Grinder series. It has an increase in price and features compared to the Baratza Sette 30. The Baratza Sette 270’s biggest difference is having the ability to have more control and more grind adjustments that professional baristas use.

This grinder has 30 marco-adjustments and 9 marked settings of stepless micro-adjustments to easily dial in your espresso shots. You can set grind time within 0.01 seconds and it lets you save a maximum of 3 different dose preferences to be able to easily use later. This grinder also allows you to grind straight into a portafilter or into a coffee bin. 

The Baratza Sette 270 is best suited for coffee enthusiasts who are looking for a machine that gives them total control over precision, function, and ease of using a grinder. This machine is also higher priced in terms of burr grinders. You can find cheaper but it won’t be as good quality or have so many features. 

Baratza Sette 270Wi

The Baratza Sette 270Wi is the first home grinder that offers a grind-by-weight functionality. The dosage is calculated and controlled by a digital scale and weighting technology that grinds into a portafilter or coffee bin.

The grinder is able to accurately dose consistently within a 10th of a gram. Like the Baratza Sette 270, the 270wi uses a conical burr grinder that has 30 macro steps and 9 marked settings of stepless micro-adjustments.

Like the other grinders in the Baratza Sette series, this one is also a higher-priced and higher-end conical burr grinder compared to those on the market. It is the most expensive in the series due to the variety of features as well as grind-by-weight technology that makes this grinder stand out among other burr grinders.

This machine is an investment for those who want to improve their coffee game and are looking for a grinder with a lot of excellent features.

Overall, we recommend any of the grinders in the Baratza Sette series. If you are looking for a high-end coffee grinder, any of these would be a great selection and there is one for each level of coffee master.

If you’re a beginner you may want to go with the Sette 30, if you want a machine with more features, consider the Sette 270, and if you want one with really unique and high-end features and grinding technology that grinds by weight, the 270Wi is a good investment.
